Global Mega Options for Opencart v1.4.6 & 1.4.7 & now for 1.4.8b

For those of you that want to try to install the 1.4.8b version onto 1.4.9 - Please DO NOT DO THIS, because it will not work & I don't want to charge you to fix the opencart installations you broke.
Global Mega Options is not just another module of Opencart. It is a full customization of a lot of core files. It is like a parallel and dependent fork of Opencart, built for it, on top of it. Core files are added to then replaced.

Summary

GLOBAL OPTIONS, TEXT OPTIONS & UPLOAD OPTIONS merged into one module.
You may be familiar with the current options that produce select options on your product pages right? Well, this product adds radio buttons, text input, text area, and file upload options to your product page options. On top of that, you can also create global option 'sets' and attach them to products. Any change you make to the global option 'set' will update every product.

- SAVE TIME creating global options. Stop adding individual options to one product at a time (life's too short to sit there creating options!!)
- Create globally updateable options that can change all options on ALL your products by making one central change.
- Create centralized option 'sets' or combos of options that are global as well (1.4.0+ versions).

Summary

This add-on will add global options or 'attributes' to your opencart ecommerce store. These options appear on the product page and allow a buyer to choose the product options. You can add value to different options depending on what the option is - eg. shirt sizes small = $5+, medium = $10+ & so on.

You create your options or option sets once, then add these 'attributes' to your products using checkboxes. Of course you can still use your normal options in addition to attributes, but this is totally up to you.

This Add-on WILL update core functionality in the options table & your core files. It allows you to choose the TYPE of option you want to use whether it's a select, radio, text input, text area or file upload option. Checkboxes are being developed now (June 2010)

Note: This add-on will only add functionality to a base installation of opencart, but will not take any functionality away. Please ensure you backup your own modifications before installation.
I can install into your opencart even if you have made modifications.

Follow the readme.txt file for a quick install. unzip, drag & drop files into your existing installation, then import the contents of one sql file into your database. The installation assumes you have an un-modified installation using the default template.

I can update your templates for you as well, even if you are using a custom design.

All purchases generally include a free upgrades for 6 months or as by request or donation.

Installation options

As a minimum, if you need installation of the global options module, I will require FTP access to your website.

Simple installation - On a base installation of Opencart, I can install this module for you if you purchase the installation option.

Custom installation - If you have other add-ons, and you've made changes to the core files as well as template customizations - I can custom install this module for you, without damage to your other modules or add-ons. I only add changes that are required where they are required.

Licencing

This add-on is released under a Creative Commons license. It is for UNLIMITED commercial & personal use - however you must leave all credits within the code intact.

It is a perpetual license that does not expire - pay once, use as many times as you like for as many sites as you need. It is not available for resale or commercial download redistribution (ie. point them back here to get it - thanks). I am happy to provide free upgrades for 6 months subject to availability.

You cannot redistribute it or offer it for sale as a download. You can only use it directly for your own clients. If in doubt, please contact me

Limitation of support

Please do not assume or demand fanatical support. Support is offered via email and through the opencart forum. I make these modules available at a small price to allow all sorts of people at all levels to take advantage of their functionality right away, but I cannot offer any guaranteed turnaround time for support at this time.

I am willing to offer you dedicated support even to the extent of my logging into your FTP sites and fixing files etc. I welcome follow up & reminder emails, however, if you have any sort of timeframe, make sure you inform me in your initial request.
